StarHub and MediaCorp Jointly Launch 8 On-Demand

Singapore, 22 December 2011 – TV viewers will soon be able to tune in to a new channel on StarHub TV for their staple of the latest Chinese entertainment programmes, as StarHub and MediaCorp will jointly launch the new 8 On-Demand channel on 28 December 2011. With 8 On-Demand, viewers can choose not only when to catch their favourite MediaCorp dramas, but also watch them seven days ahead of their scheduled telecasts on the Free-To-Air platform.

MediaCorp 8 On-Demand (StarHub TV Channel 116) is a local Mandarin entertainment channel to be offered on the StarHub TV platform. Viewers can look forward to the latest Channel 8 productions such as Double Bonus starring Zoe Tay, Tom Price and Michelle Chia, and Code of Honour starring Elvin Ng, Rui En and Zheng Gepingup to a week before they are aired on Free-To-Air. For viewers who wish to reminisce the good old days, there is convenient access to a library of programmes produced as far back as the 1980s. With 80 hours of On-Demand programmes and up to half of the titles refreshed each month, viewers will be spoilt for choice.

StarHub TV customers* can add 8 On-Demand for a monthly subscription of $8.56 (including GST) to enjoy more Chinese entertainment round-the-clock. At launch, StarHub is also offering all its pay TV customers 50% off the subscription on 8 On-Demand for the first three months.  This promotion is valid till 15 February 2012.
