StarHub and the People's Association to Screen LionsXII Matches in 11 Community Clubs Across the Country

Singapore, 5 April 2012 – In a combined effort to foster community spirit, StarHub and the People’s Association (PA) have announced a partnership to hold “LIVE” community screenings of four LionsXII Malaysia Super League matches at 11 Community Clubs (CCs) islandwide from 14 April to 22 May 2012.

Kicking off with the away match played at Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor Football Club (PKNS FC), the screenings are aimed at bringing people from all walks of life together through their common passion for LionsXII. With match tickets regularly selling out at the Jalan Besar Stadium, the community screenings will provide an additional avenue for fans to rally together and show their support for the team.

“Sports has a wonderful way of bringing people together. When we screened popular sports events for the community, we saw residents of different ages, races and estates come together, interact and make new friends. We are happy to be working with StarHub on the LionsXII community screenings at 11 CCs as this will be another great opportunity for us to strengthen community bonds and build stronger social capital,” shared Chief Executive Director of the People’s Association, Mr Yam Ah Mee.

To add to the atmosphere, attendees can expect fringe activities such as “Best Dressed Lions XII Supporter” and “Guess the Goals” contests and booths showcasing interest groups that residents can be part of.
