Singapore, 29 July 2019 – Kalaignar TV is the latest member to join over more than 40 unique and world class channels only available on StarHub Entertainment. With this new addition, StarHub will house 22 top-tiered Indian channels offering the best selection of Indian Entertainment in Singapore. Indian Entertainment Pass customers are in for a treat - the popular Tamil general entertainment channel promises an eclectic mix of fiction and non-fiction programmes and will be available from 31 July 2019, at no additional cost.
Launched in 2007, Kalaignar TV has rapidly grown to become one of the top-ranking Tamil general entertainment channels in India. The channel will feature 70% fresh and original productions. Boasting a movie library of 700 titles from classic hits to the latest blockbusters, Kalaignar TV comprises of a wide variety of entertainment ranging from reality dance shows, talk shows and drama serials, to cater to the different demands of their global audience.
Must-watch programmes from Kalaignar TV include flagship talent contest Nalaya Iyakkunar: returning for the sixth season, the show aims to provide a platform for budding filmmakers to showcase their work. The prestigious competition has contributed to the success of some of the biggest names in Kollywood like director Karthik Subburaj and actor Vijay Sethupathy. Starring Mounika and Niyas Khan, Poove Sempoove is another one not to be missed, the series follows the story of Badhra, a righteous police officer struggling to make a choice between justice and kinship.

At $29.90 per month, with a 24-months contract, customers will now be able to tune in to programmes from 22 top-notch Indian channels like Zee TV, Vijay and Sun TV, across multiple screens. Nalaiya Iyakkunar (Every Sunday, 11am) - Nalaiya Iyakkunar is Kalaignar TV’s trademark show which aims to find the next big film maker of Tamil Cinema. It is an illustrious contest for budding filmmakers, judged by Cheran and Vetrimaran.
Poove Sempoove (Premieres 5 August, every Monday to Friday, 930pm) - Set in Chennai, Badhra a police officer from a middle-class family is set to marry Karthik, son of retired Judge Kasi Viswanathan, who belongs to the upper-class society. Badhra faces the decision of having to choose between family or duty when she has to arrest Karthik’s sister Shamitha, who is involved in a murder case. Starring Mounika as Badhra, Niyas Khan as Karthikeyan, Shamitha as Uma Maheshwari.
Dum Dum Dum (Premieres 5 August, every Monday to Friday, 10pm) - Aadhimoolam and Veerapandi are arch-rivals for decades and a crucial situation arises to end their enmity. Their kids are made to get married to each other against their wishes. The couple try to dissolve the marriage later on by creating problems between the families but eventually fall in love.
Super Family (Every Sunday, 1230pm) - Hosted by Annand Pandiyan, Super Family is a fun-filled family game show where contestants get to play inside their own houses/ apartment. Two families compete against each other to win hampers at the end of the gaming rounds.
Inga Enna Solludhu (Every Sunday, 130pm) - Comedian Jagan injects his personal touch of fun and humour in Inga Enna Solludhu, an entertaining game show where celebrities test the accuracy of their intuitions based on various game rounds.
