StarHub To Offer New Broadband-Ready PCs For S$1.00
Singapore, 17 September 2001 -- StarHub, Singapore’s innovative info-communications provider, announced today that small-medium enterprises (SMEs), currently faced by the economic downturn, but still need the flexibility to upgrade their computer infrastructure and improve their access via broadband, can purchase broadband-ready personal computers from StarHub for just one Singapore dollar (S$1).
"According to the PC Life Cycle Report by International Data Corporation (IDC), the life span of a desktop PC or laptop can range from 18 to 36 months. Therefore, there is always a constant need to upgrade a company’s own IT infrastructure. StarHub is launching this service right now to help support companies that are constrained by their own resources," said Mr Jude Tan, assistant general manager for Business Sales at StarHub.
In order to participate in the programme, business customers are required to sign up for only a two-year WebSpeed broadband monthly subscription, compared to other competitive offerings in the market. They will then be able to choose from two S$1 PC bundles:
All PCs will come pre-installed with Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition. Additionally, there is a three-year onsite warranty and free broadband line installation. The offer will be made available from 17 September 2001 and will continue while stocks last.
