Singapore, 6 May 2003 - This Mother's Day, tell your mum you love her - through StarHub's HubTV, the only dedicated interactive channel in Singapore.

From 9 May, all StarHub CableTV customers can send an SMS or MMS message dedicated to their mums. All StarHub CableTV customers can receive HubTV on Channel 26 free.

The channel will feature special Mother's Day song dedication segments from 9 to 11 May. Viewers can choose from a list of music videos by popular artistes ranging from Enrique Iglesias and Shakira to the Bee Gees and Jackson 5, and send their Mother's Day greeting messages to HubTV. When the chosen music video is shown, their SMS will automatically appear on the channel.

Said Ms Sandie Lee, StarHub CableTV's Vice President of Programming, "This is an interactive and fun way to make dedications and show your appreciation for your mum this Mother's Day."

"Being a mother myself, I'll be thrilled to receive an MTV dedication from my daughters - it's certainly a refreshing change from the traditional Mother's Day greeting cards!"

To encourage viewers to make dedications, there will be three daily winners in the Most Creative Mother's Day SMS Dedication contest. And for those who are not camera-shy, they can send in an MMS picture of themselves with their mums and they could be one of three MMS winners picked daily. The Mother's Day contests will run from 9 to 11 May.

To make a MTV dedication through your mobile phone, just select a song from the HubTV screen, key in the song number and your message for your mum. StarHub Mobile customers can send their messages to 8000, while SingTel and M1 customers can send their SMS to 78000.

Earlier introduced as an events-based channel transmitting special StarHub CableTV events, HubTV has now grown into a channel with daily programming. StarHub CableTV has also designed a new channel logo for the channel.

"The response to HubTV's launch event in February was overwhelming. We extended it for nine days to cater to the huge number of messages sent to the channel. In total, we received more than 430,000 SMS and 9,000 MMS over the four-week event."

"With the positive response to HubTV, we decided to add HubTV to our suite of cable TV channels so our customers can chat and exchange MMS pictures and participate in the polls and contests available on the channel daily," added Ms Lee.

Although the Mother's Day dedications end on 11 May, the chatting will go on beyond that. StarHub CableTV customers can continue to participate in the live SMS chats by sending their messages to 8000 for StarHub Mobile customers and to 78000 for SingTel and M1 customers. Each SMS message costs 30 cents. StarHub Mobile customers can also share their pictures with viewers of HubTV by sending their multimedia messages to 8000 at 50 cents per MMS.

As viewers chat, they will also get to watch programmes from MTV SEA (StarHub CableTV Channel 20) daily on HubTV.

In May, there will be a weekly winner each for the customers who send the most number of SMS and MMS. So whip out your handphone during HubTV's transmission hours from 4pm to 2am on weekdays and from 2pm to 2am on weekends.
