StarHub Builds On Its Established and Exclusive Track Record in Providing Excellent Services and Technical Support for BlackBerry® Users
New Plan Allows Users Of StarHub’s BlackBerry® Service To Enjoy Unlimited Local Data Usage
Singapore, February 24, 2004 - StarHub, Singapore’s leading info-communications provider, is pleased to announce today that come April 2004, StarHub’s BlackBerry customers will have a new mobile data plan to choose from. The new plan, ‘BlackBerry Unlimited’, permits StarHub’s BlackBerry customers to enjoy unlimited local data usage.
Currently, StarHub offers two basic BlackBerry data plans. The ‘BlackBerry Professional’ plan costs S$39.90 (with GST) per month and includes 4MB of free data each month. This plan is specially tailored for the consumers. The ‘BlackBerry Corporate’ plan costs S$71.40 (with GST) per month and includes 19MB of free data each month. This plan is specially tailored for the enterprise users. In both plans, once the free bytes are used up, subsequent data used will be charged at S$0.0053 (with GST) per kilobyte.
However, with ‘BlackBerry Unlimited’, usage is unlimited. In fact, StarHub will even go one step further and automatically migrate all existing ‘BlackBerry Corporate’ users to the new unlimited plan at no additional charge!
"StarHub is committed to providing a high level of positive customer experience when they use our services. For instance, from the feedback gathered from our BlackBerry customers, we know that they have benefited tremendously from being able to stay constantly connected to their important emails," said Mr Chan Kin Hung, Head of Mobile Services, StarHub. "To enhance that experience and further increase their productivity and competitive levels, we decided to introduce this new worry-free unlimited data usage plan. This new plan lets our customers enjoy our high quality services at highly competitive prices."
This piece of good news comes hot on the heels after StarHub introduced a first-in-market service, StarHub OfficePlus. StarHub OfficePlus is a value added service that allows StarHub’s BlackBerry business customers to print, fax and access documents on corporate networks, from over 70 GPRS data roaming destinations across the world. It also allows the user to view graphical attachments and spell check outgoing messages.
Mr Chan added, "StarHub was the first local operator to launch the BlackBerry handheld in May 2003. With a first-mover advantage, we were able to quickly develop the infrastructure and service offerings for BlackBerry users. Backed by extensive technical expertise and excellent customer service support, StarHub’s BlackBerry customers can rest assured that they will always be on top of their businesses."
