Award-Winning Music Portal Adds More Songs, More Value for StarHub Customers
Singapore, 23 July 2004 – In an unprecedented move, fans of ;PLAY, StarHub’s award-winning online music gateway, and its music download service, will soon have the rights to transfer digital music from major record label Sony Music for an unlimited number of times onto portable digital music players. In addition, they will also be able to burn its music tracks onto CD-R ten times, more than any other local music portal in Singapore.
StarHub, Singapore’s innovative info-communications provider, will introduce this new enhancement to online music purchasers of Sony Music, the second record label to be introduced on ;PLAY. Sony Music is home of international music stars such as Jolin Tsai, Faye Wong, Karen Mok, Lee Hom, Prince, George Michael, Jessica Simpson, Oasis, Tata Young, Beyoncé and Celine Dion.
With Sony Music, the ;PLAY music downloads service now has a wider repertoire of music and artistes to choose from. StarHub’s offering will offer from Sony Music’s extensive catalogue, up to 50,000 songs from over 2,300 music artistes. Since its launch in March this year, the ;PLAY website has garnered thousands of music downloads per month.

The extended usage of purchased music downloads from Sony Music – a first in Singapore - is at par with offerings from other major international music downloads services, making ;PLAY the truly de facto music downloads portal of choice in Singapore!”

Each song, in WMA format, costs just S$1.99 (including GST) while entire albums will cost S$16.50 each (including GST). Payment can be made via credit card (VISA and Mastercard) or eNETS Vcard. StarHub customers will also be able to redeem music tracks using their StarHub Rewards points.

The service is open to all Internet users in Singapore.
