Singapore, 20 June 2004 — StarHub announced today that it has surpassed the millionth customer mark for its mobile customers and is celebrating this major milestone with a Millionth Mobile Customer Celebrations Roadshow, which is currently taking place this weekend on 19 and 20 June 2004, 11am till 9pm at Atrium@Orchard (next to Plaza Singapura).

The search for StarHub’s millionth mobile customer started on 1 May 2004.  All Postpaid and Green Prepaid StarHub Mobile customers, who are Singaporeans, Permanent Residents or Business-Registered customers were eligible for the lucky draw.

The lucky draw was conducted yesterday’s afternoon and five existing and five new StarHub mobile customers won travel vouchers worth S$30,000 each to any dream destination of their choice.   Furthermore, 3 of the winners were Hub Club members (customers with StarHub Mobile, Cable TV and MaxOnline subscriptions) and were rewarded with an additional S$3,000 each.

“I am overjoyed to be one of the ten lucky winners among StarHub’s one million customers!  I signed up with StarHub Mobile two months ago for my girlfriend as she needed a good mobile service provider for reliable and affordable services.  Now that I have won this S$30,000 travel voucher, my girlfriend and I are going to bring our families to tour Egypt, to discover the country’s 3000 years of ancient history.  I thank StarHub for making our dream come true.“ said Mr Melson Ho, 26 years old, engineer, one of StarHub’s mobile customers.

For the first time in Singapore, doggie-bone-shaped bread from the famous local bakery - BreadTalk are sold at the StarHub’s Millionth Mobile Customer Celebrations Roadshow.   Customers can choose between the two fillings –hazelnut with cornflake or hotdog.  The doggie-bone-shaped bread are sold at S$2.00 each and the profits will be donated to The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).

At StarHub’s Millionth Mobile Customer Celebrations Roadshow, there is also a chance to get up close and personal with StarHub’s favourite Jack Russell - Sparky.  Customers can also have their pictures taken with the cute and mischievous Jack Russell terrier and its four-legged friends at the roadshow.

StarHub is organising its Millionth Mobile Customer Celebrations Roadshow to thank its customers for their ardent support since the launch of its mobile services in April 2000.   There are games, dance performances and attractive prizes and exclusive premiums up for grabs for everyone.  Existing StarHub’s customers will also get to enjoy great deals and offers on mobile phones, cable TV and MaxOnline services.
