Singapore, 11 March 2004 - StarHub, Singapore’s innovative info-communications provider, is proud to announce that it has won three awards at the first-ever International Business Awards(SM). The International Business Awards is the first global, all-encompassing business awards programme honouring great performances in the workplace.
The categories where StarHub secured wins are in the Corporate Website and Corporate Film/Video categories. Specifically, StarHub’s Web Development Team was honoured for -
Best Multi-Image, Film or Video Hybrid PR / Image - Non-profit (Corporate Film or Video Categories)
Best Writing/Content (Corporate Website Category)
SPECTRUM, an online community portal created by StarHub in support of Singapore's local talents in short films, digital arts and animation, received two awards. Working closely with the Singapore Films Commission, SIGGRAPH and various tertiary institutions, SPECTRUM provides an avenue for local talents to exhibit their creativity to a global Internet audience, while allowing these audiences to interact with contributors through an online forum. Viewers are able to rate their favourite artistic pieces and recommend works to others via email.
Best Interface Design (Corporate Website Category)
The ;PLAY music portal, a musical gateway to international music stars from Asia, Europe and the US, received the Best Interface Design award for the Corporate Website Category. Users can find out the latest music news, read exclusive interviews and articles as well as sample pre-released music albums and music videos from a variety of artistes. Other content includes regularly held contests, polling, discussion forums, e-greeting cards, wallpaper downloads, and more.
StarHub was also finalists in two other categories -
Best Consumer Entertainment & Information Website for MySpace; and
Best Product Information for Gee! Mobile Data Services.
Nicknamed the Stevies(TM) for the Greek word 'crowned', the awards will be presented to winners at an awards dinner on Monday, March 22 in the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers in New York City. The dinner will benefit the Global Business Coalition Against HIV/AIDS, and will be broadcast live on radio in the U.S.A., and via the Internet worldwide, by the BusinessTalk Radio Network.

Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staff selected International Stevie winners from among the finalists, which were determined by volunteer judges around the world during two months of preliminary judging.
Recipients of 67 International Stevie Award trophies were selected from among almost 500 nominations received from companies and individuals in more than 30 countries. Countries with at least one International Stevie winner each include Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, India, South Korea, Norway, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the U.S.A.
