Nielsen//NetRatings and StarHub develop mutually beneficial collaboration
Singapore, 29 April 2005 - Nielsen//NetRatings and StarHub today announced that they have entered into a long-term partnership agreement to provide real-time, high quality Internet measurement analytics in Singapore and throughout the Asia Pacific region.
Currently measuring over 70% of the world’s Internet traffic, Nielsen//NetRatings provides independent Internet and digital measurement services to "basically any company with an online presence", according to Nielsen//NetRatings’ Managing Director in Singapore, Patricia Poo.
From StarHub’s advanced Internet Data Centre in Singapore, Nielsen//NetRatings will manage all measurement of its Internet traffic from Singapore and Hong Kong, plus the growing number of incoming page impressions from India, Malaysia, Korea and Taiwan. The setup of this new data centre brings the Nielsen//NetRatings network to a total of 13 globally. Seven data centres are located in the Asia Pacific region, namely in Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Auckland and Melbourne. Ms Poo says: "The overwhelming interest in our site-centric browser based measurement services plus the rapid growth of Internet usage in countries like Singapore, Malaysia and India have challenged us to grow our business and investments in South East Asia even faster as anticipated when we re-opened the Singapore office in October last year."
