Singapore, 29 May 2009 – Have you ever dreamt of being a superstar? Are you the next Aska Yang or Jam Hsiao? E City (StarHub TV Channel 56) and Radio 100.3 invite local aspiring singers to take part in the ‘One Million Star 5 Singapore PK Challenge’ and be one of the top three contestants who will challenge the ‘One Million Star 5’ contestants in Taiwan!

To uncover the best talents, E City and Radio 100.3 will hold auditions for ‘One Million Star 5 Singapore PK Challenge’ over two days - 6 June and 13 June 2009. Shortlisted contestants will qualify for the pre-finals on 14 June, where the number of contestants will be further trimmed to the top 20. The finals will be held at Leisure Park Kallang on 28 June.

Kay Huang, singer-songwriter-producer and regular judge on the ‘One Million Star’ series, will be flying in from Taiwan to be one of the judges for the finals of ‘One Million Star 5 Singapore PK Challenge’.

Hosted by witty Matilda Tao, ‘One Million Star’ is a popular Taiwan singing competition in search of performers who have both singing talents and idol qualities. Since the debut of its first season in 2007, the programme has uncovered many popular and up-and-coming singers such as Yoga Lin, Aska Yang, Jam Hsiao, Rachel Liang and Singapore’s own Huang Jinglun. The current season (‘One Million Star 5’) is being aired on E City every Sunday, 9pm.

This challenge is open to all Singapore citizens and permanent residents.
