Aesthetic shop design and innovative features that aim to please
Singapore, 31 December 2010 – Curl up on the comfortable sofa and catch your favourite TV show. Or enjoy shopping while waiting for your turn in the queue. These are what customers can now look forward to at StarHub Shops!
StarHub unveiled its new Shop at NEX yesterday, following the Shops at Bugis, Parkway Parade and Marina Bay Link Mall which opened earlier this year on 10 October, 17 and 24 December respectively. Occupying more than 2,000 square feet and located in basement one at NEX, this latest addition brings the total number of StarHub Shops to 10. In a short span of a year, StarHub has swiftly expanded its reach and doubled its number of shops!
"It is important for us that customers enjoy their experience with StarHub. We want customers to feel comfortable the moment they step in, enjoy our service and leave with a smile on their faces. As our customer base grows, we see an increasing need to expand and locate ourselves in strategic spots across the island so that we can be there, ready to serve and provide our customers with an excellent service experience," said Mr Ng Long Shyang, Head of Sales and Marketing, StarHub.
Much careful thought has been put into the design of StarHub Shops. The StarHub Shop at NEX, for instance, is designed with a family theme and boasts a waiting area that resembles a home living room, complete with sofas and a television set to make customers feel at home. Colour schemes are also kept to earthly tones for a soothing effect.
In addition, StarHub has incorporated several customer-centric features into the design of its Shops. The shop floor is divided into different zones such as Personal Solutions and Home Solutions. Through the zoning concept and by building a showcase around the customer’s needs, StarHub aims to help browsing customers improve their navigability and shopping experience. StarHub has also combined its sales outlets and service centres at selected Shops to bring customers one-stop service and even greater convenience.
To further improve its service level, StarHub will also introduce two innovative features at its new Shops. Customers who wish to shop while waiting for their turn in the queue can opt to receive a system-generated message which will be sent to their mobile phones to notify them when it is almost time for them to be served at the StarHub Shops. Those who wish to find out about the duration of their waiting time can send a text message for information on their queue status. Another innovative feature is the touch screen customer feedback system whereby customers can complete a simple survey on their experience with StarHub after their transactions, and receive an acknowledgement in the form of a text message thereafter.
"These new features will provide convenience to our customers while helping us regulate our service standards and measure our effectiveness," said Mr Ng.
StarHub’s desire to serve does not stop at the local market. Last month, StarHub collaborated with NTT DOCOMO, Japan’s premier provider of mobile communications services, to open a shop at Liang Court to cater to the Japanese population in Singapore. Moving forward, StarHub is exploring opening more shops and customising its service and offerings to better serve other ethnic groups in the community.
Besides StarHub shops, StarHub customers are served by some 50 exclusive partners located across the island and pre-paid sales points including 7-Eleven, Cheers, PSC minimarts, pre-paid dealers, Marina Bay Sands and UOB money-changing counters at Changi Airport’s Terminal 1, 2 and 3.
