Singapore, 27 July 2010 - StarHub TV will offer Racquet Channel (channel 211) from 8 August 2010, 6am. The channel will comprise racquet sports programming including tennis, badminton, table tennis and squash events, and will be available to all StarHub TV Sports Group customers. The launch of Racquet Channel is in line with StarHub’s intent to offer customers more simplicity and greater ease in accessing their favourite content.
Key events that viewers may look forward to on Racquet Channel in 2010 include:
StarHub TV will discontinue the carriage of Goal TV 1 and Goal TV 2 (channels 218 and 219) with effect from 1 August 2010, 12am. This is due to limited commercial viability of the channels. Goal TV 1 and Goal TV 2 were offered as part of the StarHub TV Sports Group and comprised programming from selected European football club channels.
Key 'live' football content on StarHub's in-house channels - Football Channel, SuperSports and SuperSports Plus will not be affected by the cessation of Goal TV 1 and Goal TV 2. ‘Live’ football content available on Football Channel, SuperSports and SuperSports Plus include the Spanish League La Liga, German Bundesliga, Brazilian League, J-League, S.League, Copa Libertadores, European World Cup Qualifiers and South American World Cup Qualifiers and CONCACAF Championship League.
