Singapore, 3 August 2013 – StarHub is welcoming Barclays Premier League (BPL) fans back home to StarHub TV with a suite of offerings. Football fans who choose to catch the BPL cross-carried on StarHub TV will receive a $300 rebate off their StarHub bills; the equivalent of almost 50% off the cost of the 2013/14 BPL season. In addition, football fans can catch ‘live’ BPL match commentary and analysis anytime, anywhere on the brand new Internet radio station Red Card Sports Radio from 9 August.

Starting today, customers who sign up or re-contract to any Surf & Watch bundle and sign up for the BPL to be cross-carried on StarHub TV will enjoy a $300 rebate off their StarHub bill. The two Surf & Watch bundles are the Deluxe HD Pack and 100Mbps fibre/cable home broadband at $62.37 (w/GST) per month; and Deluxe HD Pack and 25Mbps cable home broadband at $47.37 (w/GST) per month. This promotion is valid until 30 September 2013.
“In addition to providing a seamless, lag-free viewing experience on StarHub TV, the $300 rebate is our way of showing our appreciation to football fans who choose to watch the BPL cross-carried on our platform,” she added. “With the football season lasting almost ten months a year, this works out to $30 per month for ten months or almost 50% off the 2013/14 BPL season package price dictated by our competitor.”
Surf & Watch customers enjoy additional benefits such as StarHub’s multiscreen service TV Anywhere, a free home phone line, a free Wireless Home Gateway, free Fibre Termination Point installation and free activation and installation. With expert analysis taken from UK sports radio station talkSPORT, Red Card Sports Radio will offer BPL fans 'live' commentary of matches from the Barclays Premier League, the FA Cup, the Capital One Cup and the Community Shield on their smart devices such as laptops and tablets. Red Card Sports Radio will be launched on 9 August. ‘Live’ commentary kicks off with the Community Shield match between Premier League champions Manchester United and FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic on 11 August. To give all football fans the chance to sample the channel, Red Card Sports Radio will be available for free preview from 9 August to 31 October 2013.
Besides ‘live’ commentary, the online user interface of the channel will feature real-time match updates such as live scores and statistics, powered by digital sports media group PERFORM.
“Football fans constantly on the go have every reason to be excited by Red Card Sports Radio,” shared Ms Lin. “With ‘live’ match commentary and in-depth analysis, the Internet radio station will let football fans get their fix anytime, anywhere. The station is a significant addition to our soon-to-be-launched TV Anywhere apps and we are looking at even more ways to enhance our apps in future.”
Besides featuring ex-professional footballers such as the former Manchester United player Paul Parker, the station will focus on strong local programming with 'live' call-in shows before matches over the weekend. This will include show segments with local experts and personalities such as Claire Jedrek, Uday Joshi, John Wilkinson and Rhysh Roshan. In addition, ‘live’ match commentary will be available in English, Mandarin and Malay.
Viewers will need a Hub ID to log in to Red Card Sports Radio. The channel will then be available on the TV Anywhere iOS and Android apps when the apps are launched in the near future. More information on the channel’s pricing and availability on StarHub TV will be revealed at a later date.
