Singapore, 9 October 2013 – Two back-to-back days of food, fun and laughter for lovers of food and cooking are coming in November with StarHub’s Hubalicious.
Open from 10am to 6:30pm on 2 November and 3 November 2013, Hubalicious aims to give attendees a feast for both their eyes and palate while getting up close and personal with four celebrity chefs from StarHub TV’s food and lifestyle channels: Eric Lanlard of BBC Lifestyle (StarHub TV Ch 432), Henry & Tom Herbert, The Fabulous Baker Brothers of TLC (StarHub TV Ch 427) and Willin Low of the Asian Food Channel (StarHub TV Ch 435). For the first time since the debut of Hubalicious in 2010, members of the public can enjoy free entry to the event held at PasarBella @ The Grandstand (200 Turf Club Road) and savour firsthand the celebrity chefs’ signature works of art influenced by their own culinary upbringing. Beyond pampering their taste buds, aspiring chefs and fans alike can also interact with the four culinary stars as well as TV personality George Young of DIVA Universal (StarHub TV Ch 522) and chefs from hit reality TV series Chef Corner Junior of now TV On Demand (StarHub TV Ch 837) to pick up valuable cooking tips through hands-on participation and ‘live’ demonstrations. In between these interactive sessions, guests can explore over 30 unique food, wine and kitchenware stalls across the sprawling 30,000 square meters of market space as well as take part in Hubalicious’ fringe activities to win attractive prizes.
On Hubalicious’ evolution from an annual closed-door dining event to an open, experiential platform celebrating all things food all year round, Ms Lin Shu Fen, StarHub’s Head of Home Solutions said, “Starting this year, we are thrilled to open our annual food and lifestyle event to an even wider audience, providing opportunities for fans of food and cooking in Singapore to interact with and be inspired by leading celebrity chefs and food personalities of the world. Essentially, Hubalicious is envisioned to be the platform for our local aspiring chefs to hone their skills, showcase their talent and share their trade with like-minded foodies, which will spur the collaborative creation of local food-related content for our TV and digital platforms.”

Chef Biographies
Eric Lanlard
Eric Lanlard is a Master Pâtissier and twice winner of the prestigious Continental Pâtissier of the Year at the British Baking Awards. Eric has four TV series’ to his name, with the most recent being Baking Mad with Eric Lanlard. The series, which airs on BBC Lifestyle (StarHub TV Ch 432), shows Eric sharing his tips and skills on how to produce mouth-watering cakes and desserts with ease and speed. Aside from TV shows, Eric has published several cookbooks and runs regular baking classes at his Cake Boy boutique, in southwest London. When not baking, Eric's passions include art, traveling, cars, his home and wine. In 2014, Eric will become the first chef to travel to space with Virgin Galactic.
Henry & Tom Herbert, The Fabulous Baker Brothers
As fifth generation bakers, Tom and Henry Herbert come from a long line of family food lovers and are carrying on the tradition with gusto. Elder sibling Tom Herbert was declared Young Baker of the Year at The Baking Industry Awards in 2000, while Henry is a respected chef-turned-butcher and they are on a mission to restore the food culture in Britain. Their family business, Hobbs House Bakery, was established way back in the 1920s, and has scooped numerous national awards. Tom and Henry are also talented journalists and are regular contributors to national newspapers and renowned food publications.
Willin Low
Chef Willin’s cooking philosophy is to provide happiness to his guests through food. He started his culinary career in the pastry department of Ricciotti Italian Bistro and was promoted to Chef de Partie in December 2004. He then moved to Garibaldi Italian Fine Dining, working alongside Chef Roberto Galetti. In February 2007, Chef Willin opened a casual chill-out bar, Wild Oats. Five months later, he opened Relish, a concept restaurant specialising in good quality burgers paired with gourmet beers from around the world. Recently, Chef Willin took a step into the lime light, starring in his own Asian Food Channel Original Production, A Party Affair, which showcases him whipping up globally influenced and fuss-free party food!
George Young
Born in the UK, George Young is a half Chinese, half Greek actor and presenter. He studied acting in New York, followed by psychology and law. George ended up going the whole nine yards with law and qualified as a lawyer. In 2012, George appeared in Hot Guys Who Cook on DIVA Universal (StarHub TV Ch 522), a local original production featuring hot guys showing off their cooking skills. In 2013, he also returned for season 2. For the past couple of years, George has been acting in television shows and working with other production companies in the UK. He has also been doing commercials, music videos, TV and magazine shoots all over Asia; specifically in Taiwan, Thailand and China.
Chef Corner Junior
Ricky Cheung (French Executive Chef)
Being in the food and beverages industry since 13 years old, Ricky has earned his knowledge and reputation particularly in French cuisine for years. He became the French executive chef in 1996. Afterwards, he opened his own restaurant LE MIEUX BISTRO, serving European dishes with a touch of modern fusion. Ricky is also actively involved in media events, sharing his experience and insights on cooking with the audience.
Ricky is the soul of now TV’s “Chef Corner”, leading his team in preparing delicious dishes to our guests. He is also one of the mentors in “Chef Corner Junior”, teaching our young chefs the basic cooking knowledge and the correct attitude of a chef.
Christian Yang (Modernist Chef)
Christian is a Mauritius modernist chef who gained his knowledge of Hotel Management in Switzerland. Coming back to Hong Kong, Christian joined the Food and Beverages industry by opening his own Japanese teppanyaki restaurant and another restaurant serving molecular gastronomy. He is a member of the “Chef Corner” team, as well as one of the mentors in “Chef Corner Junior”.
Gabriel Choy (Western Chef & Food Consultant)
Gabriel earned his degree in hotel management and chef course in Britain, and worked at famous Scottish chef Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant as a chef. After he came back to Hong Kong, not only did Gabriel become a tutor at the Hong Kong College of Technology, but he also opened his own restaurant. With all the knowledge and skills which Gabriel has, he is recruited to become a mentor at “Chef Corner Junior”, sharing food science and nutritional principles with our young chefs.
