Singapore, 6 September 2016 – Coronet, a cyber security software company, announced it has teamed up with StarHub, Singapore’s second largest info-communications company. Coronet becomes the newest partner to join forces in supporting StarHub’s Cyber Security Centre of Excellence (COE).
Introduced in May this year, StarHub’s COE serves as a strategic hub for driving forward Singapore’s cyber security ecosystem in the country. The COE brings together the brightest, most renowned security experts to tackle global cyber threats.
Coronet is the first company to monitor the global wireless environment for threats, and automatically evaluates the risk associated with connecting to any wireless network anywhere. WiFi and cellular network attacks are rapidly gaining favor with cyber criminals, at hotels, airports, public places and offices, and once a device is connected to a network compromised by an attacker, the attacker gains full access to the device, and to enterprise resources, without being detected by any of the conventional defenses. With its one-of-a-kind solution, Coronet arms organizations with real-time visibility to wireless threats on networks around devices, and provides policy-based control on the user’s connectivity to networks and their access to enterprise resources.
Several industry partners, academia and public-sector organizations kicked off the alliance in the initial formation of StarHub’s COE, including: Blue Coat, Cyberbit, Fortinet, Wedge Networks, Nanyang Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic and Singapore University of Technology and Design.
Together with StarHub, all partners will collaborate to undertake a range of bold initiatives to strengthen Singapore’s capabilities in cyber security, expanding on talent development, innovation and industry partnerships.
“StarHub is committed to building and extending the COE’s footprint to drive value and results in cyber security,” noted Dr Lim Woo Lip, StarHub’s Vice President of Cyber Security & SmartHub. “We welcome our newest partner, Coronet, to StarHub’s Cyber Security Centre of Excellence and look forward to their contributions. Their distinct technology will fortify StarHub’s offerings. With Coronet’s technology, StarHub’s customers will be confident that they are always connected to a safe network.”
“We are very pleased to partner with StarHub and their bold initiative,” said Guy Moskowitz, Coronet’s CEO. “Coronet’s award-winning technology delivers continuous monitoring and detection of malicious attacks aimed at the WiFi and cellular networks. We look forward to collaborating and helping to advance cyber security solutions for StarHub’s COE as well as for its enterprise customers.”
