Singapore, 13 July 2017 – StarHub TV customers will be able to enjoy premium channels without the need to subscribe to any Basic Groups with the launch of a new TV price plan today. Named StarHub TV d’Lite, these five packs are aimed at offering customers more flexible viewing options and will be offered along content genres – Movies, Sports, Chinese, Malay and Tamil.
“We seek to offer a wide range of both content and viewing options to cater to customers with different viewing appetites. With the new d’Lite Packs, customers with specific interests can zero in on their favourite content without having to subscribe to the Basic Groups,” said Justin Ang, Head of Product, StarHub. “Be it through our StarHub TV or StarHub Go offerings, we will continue exploring new ways to offer customers the content they love, on the platforms they choose, delivered the way they want.”
Movies d’Lite Pack
Powered by nine movie channels including household favourites FOX Movies and HBO, the Movies d’Lite Pack offers movie buffs an extensive selection of titles from award-winning arthouse films to the latest summer blockbusters. In the month of July, customers can look forward to highlights Doctor Strange and Moana (on FOX Movies); as well as Jason Bourne and the highly-anticipated premiere of the global phenomenon Game of Thrones season 7 (HBO).
Sports d’Lite Pack
Catch adrenaline-pumping sports programming with the Sports d’Lite Pack. Experience the excitement with the LIVE telecast of the Wimbledon Championships, PGA Championship and FIVB World Grand Prix. In July, customers can tune in to Hub Sports 2 and Hub Sports 3 to support national swimmers Joseph Schooling and Quah Zheng Wen as they make a splash in the 17th FINA World Championships. August also marks the return of European football led by the UEFA Super Cup tie between Real Madrid and Manchester United. In addition, football fans can look forward to their favourite stars plying their trade in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1.
Chinese d’Lite Pack
Tailored to all aficionados of Chinese entertainment, the Chinese d’Lite Pack features the hottest drama selections, movies, variety shows and infotainment programmes. Jam-packed with exciting content, viewers can catch popular TV series from Hong Kong, Korea, China, Taiwan and Japan in addition to movie exclusives from top Asian producers and studios.
Malay d’Lite Pack
The Malay d’Lite pack showcases popular Malay entertainment and K-dramas which are either dubbed in Malay or come with Malay subtitles. Customers can enjoy the best of Malay entertainment with Hub Sensasi as well as movies (Hub Dunia Sinema VOD) and comedies (Astro Warna). With three channels from MNC, the largest television network in Indonesia, customers can also catch the latest business news, celebrity news and Indonesian entertainment.
Tamil d’Lite Pack
The Tamil d’Lite Pack offers a mix of talk shows, game shows, news, music and movies from the biggest media companies in India such as Sun TV, Sun Music and Zee Tamil. Catch the best curated Tamil content from India with local channels Vannathirai and V Thamizh, which also offer daily LIVE call-in talk shows. The Pack also includes the first Tamil on-demand channel Hub Varnam VOD, which allows customers to view locally produced content as well as movies, awards presentations, dramas, and reality programmes anytime they wish.
With a 12-month contract, customers can subscribe to Sports, Chinese, Malay and Tamil d’Lite Packs for $19.90 per month (w/GST) per pack and the Movies d’Lite Pack for $24.90 per month (w/GST). All contract subscriptions will be entitled to free rental of a set-top box. Customers can subscribe to more than one d’Lite Pack at any point in time.
From 15 to 16 July 2017, customers who sign up for the Movies d’Lite Pack at the Game of Thrones pop-up booth in VivoCity East Court (next to Serenity Bar and Restaurant) will receive a pair of passes to an exclusive screening of episode one of Game of Thrones season 7. At the exclusive screening, every customer will be entitled to a goodie bag worth more than $130. The pop-up booth is open to the public, who can take part in Game of Thrones-themed activities and stand to win prizes such as a Lannister, Stark or Targaryen supplies pack and life-sized replica weapons of characters in the series.
