Available for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents aged 60 years and above as well as clients of SADeaf and SAVH, and Persons with Disabilities
Singapore, 29 June 2020 – In support of Singapore’s Seniors Go Digital programme, StarHub today launched four mobile plans from as low as $8 monthly, specially packaged for affordability and simplicity to meet the connectivity needs of customers aged 60 years and above. Amid the changing times, StarHub wants to help seniors discover the joy of adopting digital technology and having family and friends close to them and instantly accessible through the mobile phone.
In addition, StarHub is partnering the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) to launch a specially priced Mobile Access for Seniors plan for less-connected needy seniors. This plan will be subsidised by IMDA and further supported by the StarHub Cares COVID-19 Fund community programme. More details about this additional help measure for seniors will be made available in the coming weeks.
“Digital mobile technology continues to change the way we communicate, live, work and play, from video-calling to online shopping and digital check-ins for safety purposes. As life moves increasingly online, we want to use our technology expertise to further support everyone and especially our seniors, as part of the nationwide effort to empower all to stay safe and connected,” said Johan Buse, Chief of Consumer Business Group, StarHub. “By offering specially designed mobile plans and low-cost smartphones, we are happy to support our seniors to do more and explore more while enjoying the best quality of service and care. We will never stop being there for our customers, as we have been for the past 20 years.”
StarHub’s suite of four senior-friendly plans
With seniors’ needs and well-being in mind, StarHub specially designed four Seniors Go Digital mobile plans for them to enjoy a worry-free experience. The mobile plans offer customers Caller Number Display (Caller ID) free-of-charge as standard and free incoming calls and incoming SMS. Customers also enjoy complete freedom from hidden charges, such one-time registration, re-contract and SIM card fees, as part of StarHub’s #HelloChange brand promise.
Tailored for seniors wanting the most affordable option, StarHub is offering a fuss-free SIM Only no-contract mobile plan at $8. Customers of this contract-free plan will get 350 outgoing minutes of talktime and 5GB of data every month, valid for a full year. The next most affordable mobile plan is at $20 per month, giving customers unlimited talktime and 30GB of monthly data for the full one-year term.
The next two mobile plans are best suited for customers who want a new free phone. For $40 or $60 per month – which is at least 25% off the usual subscription rate, customers will be able to enjoy unlimited talktime plus 15GB or 40GB of monthly data for the full two-year term. $0 phone models include HUAWEI nova 5T, HUAWEI nova 7 SE, OPPO Reno2 and Samsung Galaxy A51, all of which offer a senior-friendly mode that simplifies the screen layout and enlarges the fonts for easier reading.
In conjunction with this launch for seniors, StarHub is making available these four attractive mobile plans to registered clients of the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH) and the Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf) as well as Persons with Disabilities concession cardholders.
